We are excited to share that Dr. Sam Oliveira has been selected as a Next-Gen BioLeader at SynBioBeta 2026.
SynBioBeta is one of the largest global summits in synthetic biology, bringing together researchers, founders, industry leaders, and investors from around the world. The meeting plays a key role in shaping the future of biotechnology across healthcare, sustainability, and the broader bioeconomy. The Next-Gen BioLeaders program recognizes a select group of emerging scientists contributing to these advances.
Through the Next-Gen BioLeaders program, Dr. Oliveira will bring emerging research directions from the Oliveira Lab into conversations with leaders across the global biotechnology community. Current areas of focus include:
Programmable microfluidic platforms
Synthetic microbial communities
AI-enabled biological systems
At the Oliveira Lab, our work focuses on developing microfluidic and synthetic biology platforms to better understand how biological systems behave in complex and dynamic environments. These approaches aim to move experimental biology closer to real-world conditions, where cells and microbial communities continuously interact and adapt.
In parallel, we are advancing bioreactor-based systems and computational approaches to study complex biological interactions under dynamic conditions. More details on this work will be shared as we approach the event. SynBioBeta 2026 Event Details:
📅 Dates: May 4 – May 7, 2026
📍 Venue: San Jose Convention Center, California, USA
