On Friday, September 19th, Sam Oliveira attended the Mid-Atlantic Synthetic Biology Network (MASBN) theme meeting at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in Durham. The meeting focused on "applying synthetic biology for monitoring indoor air quality." It was a great opportunity to connect with leaders in biotechnology innovation, including Dr. Eric Josephs, who is now collaborating with our lab. Sam and Dr. Eric discussed the exciting potential of using engineered duckweed 🌱 to address challenges like indoor air quality monitoring. Sam also showcased the engineering tools we develop, spanning microbial bioengineering, mechanical systems, and microfluidics, and how these can empower plant biologists to solve pressing environmental problems.
We are excited to see where this collaboration goes! 🔬🌱
