NanoImpacts 2026: Bringing Together Leading Minds in Nanoscience, Biotechnology, and Engineering
The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) hosted NanoImpacts 2026 on October 7–8, 2026, bringing together researchers, scientists, academic leaders, and students for two days of scientific exchange, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Under the theme “Living Systems Across the Nanoscale: Linking Environments to Biological Functions,” the conference featured distinguished speakers sharing advances in synthetic biology, microbiome engineering, nanotechnology, biomanufacturing, computational modeling, and AI-driven biological research.
The program featured presentations from Prof. Douglas Densmore, Prof. Lingchong You, Prof. Manuel Kleiner, Prof. Nathan Crook, Prof. Ophelia Venturelli, Prof. Tianqi Song, Prof. Benjamin Callahan, Prof. Daniel Sprockett, Prof. Samuel Oliveira, Prof. Senay Yitbarek, Prof. Adriana San Miguel, Dr. Matthew Pavlovich, and other experts across academia and industry.
The event also welcomed contributions from JSNN Dean Masud Chowdhury, Dr. Sherine Obare, Dr. Lisa Clough, Ms. Nancy Johnston, Dr. Tracey du Laney, and Mr. Louis Judge, whose participation highlighted the importance of institutional leadership, research partnerships, and scientific collaboration.
Beyond the presentations, NanoImpacts 2026 fostered meaningful discussions, new connections, and opportunities for interdisciplinary partnerships.
The Oliveira Lab was proud to contribute to organizing NanoImpacts 2026. We extend our sincere appreciation to all our distinguished speakers for sharing their expertise, innovative research, and valuable insights. Their contributions sparked meaningful discussions, inspired new perspectives, and made these two days of scientific exchange truly impactful. We also thank the organizers, attendees, and volunteers whose dedication made this event possible.
